Call for Nominations for New Fellows

The Statutes stipulate that candidates for consideration for election into the Fellowship be proposed by means of a certificate (attached) which shall specify name, age, area of specialization, status or rank, and the usual residence of the candidate. Nomination Form shall also be signed by at least three Fellows with one of them as the Proposer.

The Proposer should be in the same academic section (Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences, Clinical Sciences or Dental Sciences) as the nominee, and all the nominating fellows must be in good financial standing.

Guidelines for Pre-Assessment of Candidates:

  1. Should have supervised at least 12 PhD students or 12 Fellowship candidates (Clinical/Dental/Basic Clinical Sciences) and/or have at least 5 patents
  2. Must have Google Scholar citation of at least 1500
  3. Must have h-index of 25 or above
  4. The candidate should be the first or corresponding author in at least 50% of the 8 best publications submitted for consideration.
  5. The best papers should be published in journals with minimum Impact Factor of 2.0
  6. For Diaspora Candidates, at least 25 percent of the best papers submitted should be based on work done in Nigeria.
