A pre-symposium essay writing competition on ‘Human Breath’ was organized at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, College of Medicine University of Lagos. The following six secondary schools participated: Reagan Memorial Baptist Secondary School, Igbobi College, Ansar-ud-deen Grammar School, Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Federal Science and Technology College Yaba and Sanya Senior Secondary School. The essays were graded by a panel of examiners appointed from among the Fellows by the Local Organising Committee. The three best winners that energed were announced and awarded plaques and cash prizes.  The best essay was read by the winner at the symposium.
